Real Titanic Photos Which Are More Riveting than the Movie Created by James Cameron in 1997!

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT ABOUT THE REAL
PHOTOS OF THE TITANIC & WHAT THEY MAY HAVE LOOKED LIKE? WELL, I THINK YOU WILL FIND THESE PHOTOS MORE RIVETING THAN THE ACTUAL EPIC MOVIE THAT JAMES CAMERON DID IN 1997.
TITANIC LEAVING PORT FOR NEW YORK CITY
BUT NEVER DID MAKE IT.
All most Everybody has seen the Epic movie that James Cameron did in 1997. And Everybody knows of the tragic history of the 'Unsinkable' SHIP COLLISION WITH AN ICEBERG. However, few have seen these breathtaking real TITANIC PHOTOS SPANNING FROM THE SHIPS CONSTRUCTION IN THE EARLY 1900S TO THE DISCOVERY OF ITS WRECKAGE IN 1985. The Royal Mail Ship (RMS) Titanic was officially launched by the White Star Line on May 31, 1911. It was built in response to their competitors 'New Ocean Liners, Mauritania and the Lusitania, which were breaking the White Star Line's -The Titanic-records for size and speed. I have always found this tale fascinating and very sad. I did love the movie on many levels but I always seemed to cry every time I watch the movie. I just can't forget what they did to the folks in the middle and lower class locking in the ship to their deaths. But that was the times which I will never understand. Since then there have been many historical PBS movie about the ship and the people how died and survived. However the true photo's and story's are always my true passion. So I hope that you enjoy the True story and the photo's that I will include too. I will also add some interesting new about a billionaire that has built a Titanic ll set to sail 2016 I believe and the ship is already almost full. It is taking the same root that the originally Titanic took over 100+ years ago. My question is to you all is? If you had the opportunity would you take the Titanic ll ship with all the fancy stuff It has. It seems that it to look exactly like the original and everybody is to dress like that of the time.. I myself would never get on that ship.
There will be about 34 items that I will cover in this post that will have both old photos and photos under the very deep sea.
1- THE ROYAL MAIL SHIP TITANIC

.

2-MASSIVE PROPELLERS
This photo was taken towards the end of
construction which gives a clear idea

of just how massive the Titanic was. The ship was 883 feet long, which is taller that any
building at that time. Had the ship been placed upright.
2a-PROPELLER FOUND UNDERWATER
One of the Three Propellers found underwater in
the wreckage. The middle Propeller on the ship was 16 feet across, while the two side propellers were 23 feet across. It is not clear which which is depicted in this photo.

3-HONEYMOONERS ABOARD TITANIC
This photo is of Mr. & Mrs, George A. Harder, who were aboard the Titanic for their honeymoon trip. The photographer, Bernie Palmer, sold the rights to his photo and other for a mere & 10 not realizing they'd be worth much more money in years to come. Because the
Woman facing away from the camera survived
the shipwreck but her husband unfortunately died like so many men
did standing left on the sinking ship
in its finally hours.

4-CONSTRUCTION OF THE TITANIC
In this photograph since the Titanic and her sister ship
the Olympic were to be the largest ever
created, there were no slipways in existence to
accommodate the construction. In order to move

forward they first had to build a giant slipway, dubbed the 'Great Gantry,' which alone cost close to
$150,000 at the time.

5-STERN& RUDDER OF SHIP
In this photo it show the ships rudder, which is
one of the main pieces needed to steer the one
gigantic vessel. The rudder of the Titanic weighed over
20,000 pounds at the time.

6-TITANIC AT DOCK BEFORE LAUNCH
This is a amazing photograph of the Titanic at the dock just before it was

launch. Moving such a large structure from land into the water is an amazing feat to do. While the process of sliding the ship into the water only took a total of 62 seconds, it required 23 tons of lubricants including train oil, soap and grease to get the enormous ship moving in the water.

7-LEAVING BELFAST
In this photo the you see the RMS Titanic leaving Belfast with the help of tugboats.
There are only two visible in the image, but here actually five tugboats needed in order to guide the
large vessel. This photo was taken during a sea trial, which is a testing phase toward the end of her construction.

8-THE CREW OF THE TITANIC
In this photo is the entire crew of the Titanic . The man with the white beard in the middle of the front row is Edward J. Smith who was the Captain of the ship. It is rumored that the Titanic

voyage was meant to be his last trip before retiring as a Captain. The other men feature are the various officers and engineers, that included the Chief Engineer.

9-CAPTAIN EDWARD JOHN SMITH
This was the Captain of the Ship of the Titanic and was the commanding officer for the White Star Line shipping company who met his demise as Captain of the RMS Titanic. There are various conflicting accounts of Smiths last words or how he died in the disaster, but all suggest his final

actions were heroic. Some have blamed the Captain for the incident , suggesting that he wrongfully sped through the ice berg at full speed. However, he was posthumously exonerated since it was common practise at the time. There is at least one survivor who did claimed in a letter that Captain Smith had been drinking directly before the incident. Her letter
(pictured below), written aboard the rescue ship Carpathia was sold in an auction in 2012.

10-THE FAMOUS ICEBERG
This is a photo of yes! the famous iceberg that did indeed breached the side of the enormous ship that everyone thought couldn't be sunk. The iceberg punctured all five of the ships watertight
rooms to keep the huge ship afloat if it was ever to come across any trouble in the big blue and very cold Atlantic Ocean.

11- PROMENADE DECK
The promenade deck was located directly below the top deck.
While this deck was for general use, there were four cabins that
featured private 50-foot promenade decks of their own. They were
called the Parole Suites and were the most expensive rooms
available. The priciest of these rented for over $4,000 in 1911.
which in close to $100,000 today!

12-STANDARD SINGLE BED CABIN
The Titanic was basically made for the upper class in my opinion, however half of the ship from the middle down was filled with thousands of folks wanting to start a knew life in the new world as they all call called America. What middle and lower class didn't know is that if there were ever a problem on the seas they were the first to go to protect the rich. as you saw in the movies as they were locked down in the ship to drown. I hope in the new Titanic 11 that is being made we have come a long long way from those days.
This rooms that were made were mostly for the 350 first class standard cabins that included a single bed. There were also 39 private suites available on the ship and each had private bathrooms in addition to the bedrooms including their Captain and crew. Some private suites even included wardrobe rooms and were decorated in ornate styles of the French monarchy. This of course was only on the top decks anything below was concern lower class and the rooms were very small and they has to share bathrooms etc.

13- THE MARCONI COMMUNICATIONS ROOM

The communications room on the ship was operated by the Marconi Company. The operators aboard The Titanic were actually employees of the Marconi Company and not crew members
    of the ship.

14-LIFEBOATS BEING LOWERED
The Titanic Had only 20 lifeboats aboard on the decks that could carry around 1,200 people at the maximum capacity. Although that is more boats than required at the time, it is less than half of the vessels occupancy roughly 2, 500 when including passengers and the crew. The 3nd class was one that never made it to the decks or inside the lifeboats they were locked down in the class third behind the lock bars.
    15-Survivors on the Carpathia

In this photo there are over 700 survivors from the shipwreck that were rescued by an
ocean liner named Carpathia. The survivors were all extremely cold and suffering  from stress and hypothermia, so they were handed warm clothing by the passengers of the ocean liner.  700 survivors is not very many compared to the 2,500 that were aboard the ship Titanic ...

16-passengers fleeing on lifeboats
The Lifeboats were
filled with passengers
fleeing the sinking ship.
Since the crewmen were
worried that the lines
world not actually
support the weight,
many of the lifeboats
were launched below
capacity. The first boat to
launch was only holding less than half of its
65 person capacity and another left with a
mere 12 people on board, and the list sadly
goes on and on....

17-Sparsely Filled Lifeboat

Sadly every time a
life boat came out on
the water they were
even more empty.
The passengers who
did fled on the
lifeboats were
in the water for over
two hours before the
Capathia was able to arrive to their rescue.
Of course anybody that didn't make it into a
lifeboat would grab anything they could and
hang on in the freezing water for 2hours.
By the time the Carpthaia was able to arrive it was
a grizzly seen to see
all the frozen bodies dead .

18-LIFEBOATS BACK AT PIER 54 - In this photo it shows all the
lifeboats that were used
in the water after the
passengers that were safely
brought back from the sinking
Titanic to the
pier 54 This was White Star
Lines' Pier 54 in New York City
where thousands were hoping to
see their loved ones and others
to start their
new life but it never
happened.

19-GYM&LUXURY AMENITIES
In this photo it shows
a man on an antiquated
row machine.
A gym was one
of the many luxury
amenities within the ship. The Titanic,
along with its sister ship Olympic, were
actually the first ocean liners to include
a gym
and other amenities include a large
swimming pool a squash court and
Turkish Bath.

20-CLOSE-UP OF THE ICEBERG THAT
TOOK DOWN THE TITANIC

This is a closer photo
of the iceberg that sunk
the Titanic. The black marks on
the iceberg are purportedly lines of
the paint left behind by the ship.
If they
would have collided with' the iceberg head
on, there is a good chance
that the Titanic would not have sank

21-THE GRAND STAIRCASE
The most famous
Grand Staircase which I
am sure was quite
 grand in its time. The
ornate grand staircase
that is famously
replicated in the 1997
movie. This phot is
actually the staircase
of the Titanic sister
ship the Olympic. The two ships had
identical grand staircases constructed but
no known pictures exist of the actual
staircase within the Titanic.

22-GRAND STAIRCASE IN THE OCEAN WRECKAGE

Of course I would
have to show you a
photo of the Grand
Staircase in the ocean
to show you how it is
now after over
100+years in the deep
ocean and what is
left of the
grand staircase -
Well, not much obviously.
While filming the movie, James
Cameron has stated that the
replica staircase
broke free and floated
away unexpectedly, It is
believed that
it is exactly what happened
to the actual staircase as well.

23-DISCOVERY OF MANY PARTS
OF THE TITANIC WRECK

There are many amazing photo deep in the ocean that
the RMS Titanic was finally
discovered in
1985 by Robert Ballard after many years of
failed attempts by various expeditions. In
order to find the wreckage he had to device
new technology which he called Argo, a deep
sea vehicle that could be controlled remotely.

24-SHIP'S BOILER IN OCEAN WRECKAGE
One of the largest
boilers found in the
wreckage of the ship, was
actually the first thing that
was found by Robert Ballard
in his 1985 expedition.
The boiler was identified
as being
from a picture from 1911.
and the next day
Ballard discovered
the largest part of the
wreck using his Argo technology.

25-STERN OF THE SHIP
what is left of the
stern of the ship wreckage
when it was discovered
by Robert Ballard
in 1985. Until the
discovery of the wreck it
was not widely
believed that the ship hull
would have actually torn in half before sinking.
The stern and the bow were found a third of
mile apart confirming that It did in fact break
into two sections

26-BATHROOM OF THE CAPTAIN
There were many
thing found in the sea
wreckage but the Captains
bathroom was
a fun one to discover
. Yes Captain
Edward Smith
Porcelein tub was still
largely in tact but covered with barnacles.

27-ONE OF SEVERAL ANCHORS FOUND
This is just one of the
three anchors still
within its compartment
found at the wreckage
in 1985 The Titanic had Three
gigantic anchors, each weighing
in at over 10 tons fro a total of 31 tons.

28-THE REAL JACKSON DAWSON?
Well, you want to know
who was the real Jackson Dawson?
It is said that Emilio Portaluppi
is believed to have been the real
Jackson Dawson from James
Camerons epic love story about
the disaster. Portaluppi boarded
the Titanic with a second class
ticket by happenstance as he was
actually supposed to be on a different
ship. He was invited aboard the
Titanic by the wealthy Astor
family. It is purported that he
had a cursh on Madeleine Astor.

29-THE REAL ROSE!
It would be remiss to
include the real Jack without the
real Rose - Madeleine
Talmage Astor was the wife of the
business mogul, John Jacob
Astor lV. She is believed  by
some to have been the real
Rose from the movie, Titanic
. However, it has never been
suggested that she actually
had affair with Emilio Portaluppi.

30-JOHN JACOB ASTOR lV
It was said in the New
York American newspaper
of Mr Jacob Astor lV
disappearance. Also he was
one of the wealth person
to perish in the disaster,
and at the time he was one
of the richest people in
the world. John Astor and
his wife were aboard the
Titanic because Madeleine
was pregnant and
insisted on having their
child in the US

Love you all my dears it very late for me
I hope you all enjoyed the post

photos from the Titanic in better times
